The JSMethod
rooted Contemporary Dance
A Joyful Revolution of the Body
The JSMethod is more than a dance technique, it is a full-bodied, soul-forward experience that blends contemporary movement with cultural depth, inciting personal expression and embodied truth. Rooted in Contemporary and Afro-Brazilian foundations, the JSMethod invites dancers to explore power, rhythm, freedom, and joy in one dynamic practice.
Built on kaleidoscopic roots and diverse technical influences, the JSMethod challenges dancers to move beyond the confines of any one style or tradition. Instead, dancers are guided to expand their vocabulary, access emotional depth, and cultivate a movement language that is both grounded and voluminous.
This method requires full presence and rigor as dancers are encouraged to channel energy, tell stories through gesture and rhythm and give purpose to every phrase.
It is a joyful revolution of the body, a celebration of artistry, culture and personal truth; where technique meets transformation
The JSMethod takes dancers beyond movement, physically and mentally.

Steps are learned and require a dedicated practice.
BUT
What also requires and deserves dedicated practice is developing our own
unique feeling our own unique expression.
I INCITE THIS
It is my goal to help you, me, us develop, create, and
REVEL yes REVEL in OUR MAJESTY.
My work is deeply inspired by Afro-Brazilian and Latin tradition, forms that have profoundly shaped my movement, my artistry, and my personal evolution.
While I am not Brazilian, I engage these traditions with deep reverence, responsibility, and ongoing relationship. I do not position myself as a cultural authority, but as a student, a witness, and a woman transformed by what these practices have offered me.
Over the past three decades, I’ve trained with master artists including Eneida Castro, Marcus Santos, Betho Filho, Sandra de Oliveira, Leonara Galas, andTatiana Campelo. I carry their teachings with care, naming the lineages and honoring the roots.
The spaces I create through the JSMethod, Tropicaleiza, and SALT Studios are not about ownership. They are about shared joy, cultural respect, and embodied empowerment.
