Julie Simon is an internationally acclaimed dance artist, educator, and innovator with three decades of professional experience. Her dynamic repertoire spans Brazilian, Caribbean, and Latin dance styles, as well as Afro-Contemporary dance, reflecting a rich tapestry of cultural influences from her extensive global travels.
Julie has taught and performed in over 14 countries, most recently in Brazil, with career-defining chapters in Northern California, Africa, and Europe. During her seven years in Europe, she trained, performed, and shared her artistry across multiple nations, gaining a deep appreciation for the diverse expressions of movement and rhythm worldwide.
Motivated by the mentorship of Eneida Castro, Julie began teaching in 2003, channeling her passion into developing the **JSMethod**, a holistic and transformative dance training program. She continues to teach internationally, sharing her expertise and enthusiasm with dancers in the U.S., Europe, and South America.
Julie is the visionary behind **SALT STUDIOS**, a welcoming space for adult dancers of all levels, and the founder and director of **Tropicaleiza Dance + Drum Co.**, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women through dance, drumming, and storytelling.
A wife and proud mother of two boys, Julie’s journey is one of creativity, connection, and cultural celebration—a testament to the transformative power of dance on a global scale.
